Tears (Jack Frost)Tears
When your wedding day began amongst - the melting of the ice,
Did you know of the crystalline tears - falling from my eyes?
A kiss for the bride in the frosting your flowers
A small reminder of adulation through my powers
Do you remember the tailor who was clumsy among the snow
But I doubt you noticed enough to ask where I would go?
You said you loved me when called me by my proper name
But you'll have forgotten by the first summer's rain
For though I can chill the world in the purest sapphire blue
Yet my polar heart will forever beat in memory of you.
I'm Not Laughing (a poem)AKA Hurt Harley
Breaking through the madness - looking into my eyes
I felt like a child - finding an extra crackerjack prize.
I donned a hat with jingle bells
Diamonds on the side -
And starched tarlatan on the lapel.
Yet realizing it now,
leaves a bitter taste in my mouth -
Like finding half a worm in an apple.
I would have given myself,
on a silver platter for you -
if that was your wish.
But you have discarded
all but abandoned me,
Like a day old carnival goldfish
Never once did your arms embrace me -
Nor ever a tender kiss from your lips.
I understanding the longing -
Like the morning tide for bottled ships.
Now that you have removed all traces from me from your life,
The wound cuts deeper than any close range firearm or blade of knife.
Friend of FrostYou once said -
you liked flowers,
even though you never got a chance to see them.
Have you ever felt -
my heartbeats' accumulate,
like snowflakes on an iron windows' brim?
Though winter illuminates it all but pales -
when it washes away in silver rains,
Just as when a closeness goes away -
the emptiness and longing remains.
I feel your touch in each icy breeze -
as your caresses reach my eyelashes and nose,
Just as I hear your whispering -
in the northwest sapphire winds that blows.
The seasons change yet I keep you close -
out of sight but not of mind,
Memories linger and comfort surround me -
like an ultimate pirate matelot bind.
There is nothing I can do but wait -
until perhaps later in the year,
In which your presence enchants me -
to dissolve all my doubt and fear.
Full Moon and Lunar PromisesAn ivory full moon paused to rest
within the spindly, ebony trees branches
Its silverly light lingered awhile
like bittersweet kisses & second chances
She knew she hadn't long there,
as the tree must 've somehow instead.
But a winter bird does not consider the source
from which it receives it's bread.
He offered her good things and promises,
the kind most like to hear.
But this may have been strange because,
between them hadn't mouth or ear.
The brightening dawn did all it could,
to give the couple warning.
But as it does each day
the moon faded into morning.
So if you look up in the early dusk,
and still see the moon in the sky.
That's only the maiden paying tribute
with a devoted watchful eye.
A Bloody, Stupid Miracle The day we’d cured the human condition was the day I put a bullet through my head and didn’t die. It was also the day I realized how scared I actually was of death, and after hours of muscle ache from holding that gauze against my open skull, after the wound closed and everything went back to normal, I had myself a good old-fashioned brainstorm. How ironic.
But when summer came, everything had fallen to shit. The air scorched my skin and parched my tongue every time I took a breath. The sun glared down on a rapidly-collapsing world, full of the undying bastard children of cruelty and misfortune. What was one to do when their cells regenerated faster than they decomposed?
My feet hit the pavement, now littered with jagged bits of glass to snap at my toes, thoroughly baked by the blazing ball of bitter disdain high overhead. Today was worse than yesterday. Though I’d often wondered the purpose of it anymore, I
